Late Wednesday night, word leaked that Comcast was planning to make a friendly bid for fellow cable company Time Warner, and on Thursday morning that deal was confirmed with an announcement from the companies involved. So it goes -- in the end -- there can only be 1! What a nightmare when there is just 1 cable company! If we are not pleased with the cable offering and service now, how does that get better and how do our pricing plans get better when the two biggest join forces.
I hear you - loud and clear -- that this deal is all about the pipes! The dent in the armor Net Neutrality is written all over this deal. Because of the recent court case denting the cause of net neutrality makes the pipes that much more valuable. Consolidating the ownership of that pipe in a single entity is disconcerting to say the least imho. These FTC hearings will be very interesting.
