As we saw in Gigya’s Q3 2013 Social Sharing data, Pinterest has become a mainstream sharing destination. In Q4 2013, the photo-sharing network continued gaining traction, and accounted for nearly a quarter of all social network shares from third-party sites and apps during that time period.

My Two Cents

All social sharing is dominated by FB = 43%; Twitter in 2nd = 26% and Pinterest = 24%.

What is very surprising is that when social sharing is linked to eCommerce, then these statistics change in a very interesting way with Pinterest = 40%; FB = 39% and Twitter in 3rd = 15%.

When linked to education and non-profit, FB dominates = 68%; Twitter in 2nd = 17% and Pinterest = 9%.
