Lois Lerner, the IRS official in charge of the division accused of wrongdoing, invoked her Fifth Amendment right against testifying, and defiantly asserted her innocence.
"I have not done anything wrong. I have not broken any laws," she said. "I have not violated any IRS rules or regulations and I have not provided any false information to this or any other committee."
My Two Cents
Lois Lerner - you are a piece of work. You say you have not broken any laws. Yet the 5th Amendment protects witnesses form being forced to incriminate themselves. Bewildered is not strong enough to describe how I felt when reading about her testimony in front of Congress. You did nothing wrong, then why do you need the 5th Amendment. If I was Congress, I would throw a contempt charge at her.
Oh by the way, she actually testifies by saying, "I've have not done anything wrong..." That by itself should be considered testimony, which means that she has "waived" her 5th Am rights. Lerner - you deserve no such protection.
