In an interview, House minority leader Nancy Pelosi said that she believes Republican Jews are "being exploited," but she was sure to add, "And they're smart people."
Pelosi made the comments in response to whether Jewish voters would support President Barack Obama in the presidential election later this year.
My Two Cents
Is Nancy Pelosi serious when she says "Republican Jews are being exploited?" Does she really think that sort of patronizing rhetoric and stereotypical thinking is persuasive? If you read the transcript (linked below), she goes even further and say that what Republican Jews really want are tax cuts (not b/c Obama is allegedly soft on Israel). Is her commentary going to win anyone over? NO! More to the point, it has the opposite effect. No chance of winning that vote now.
When I hear a political leader speak like that – I immediately think "term limits" are a good thing!
